Right now
If you need help this minute, start with a phone.
Peace Labs builds practice for the moment before. When the moment is now, these are the people who answer, day and night, free. Nothing on this page asks who you are.
Who answers
Danger right now: 911
Someone is hurt, armed, or about to be. Call 911. If it is safer, text 911 where that is supported, or get to a lit, public place first.
A crisis, or thoughts of hurting yourself: 988
The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Call or text 988, any hour, in English or Spanish. For you or for someone you are worried about.
Rather text than talk: 741741
Crisis Text Line. Text HOME to 741741 and a trained counselor texts back. Free, private, around the clock.
Drugs or alcohol, yours or theirs: 1-800-662-4357
The SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-HELP). Free, confidential, 24 hours, in English and Spanish: treatment referrals and information for people and families facing substance use.
Food, shelter, a bill, a ride: 211
211 connects you with local help in Louisiana and across the country: housing, food, utilities, counseling, legal aid. Call 211 or search 211.org.
When the moment has passed
The next one does not have to go the same way.
Most of what we build is for the day after: the practice, the words, the step back, the person who steps in. If you want to be ready for the next time, or want your school, church or program to be, tell us. No sign-up is needed to look around.
Good to know
Does this page keep anything about me?
No. There is no form here, no sign-in, and the page sets no tracking cookie of its own. The numbers above are run by the services named, not by us.
What if the person in danger is me, and I am under 18?
988 and 741741 answer young people every day. You do not need a parent on the line to call or text. If you are in school, a counselor or coach can also make the call with you.
I am a worker on the street. Where are the Peace Labs tools?
Behind the partner door. Your organization can take the partner path once and share the demo with its team.
